A solid grasp of commercial law and legal risk management is a sought-after skill among employers across both private and public sectors. You'll explore fundamental legal concepts including the legal system, judicial processes, legal documentation and research, civil wrongs, commercial regulations, as well as competition and consumer protection laws. The program offers flexibility through three elective courses in specialized areas such as real estate, labor law, finance, natural resources, global commerce, and intellectual rights. Although this major doesn't lead to legal practice qualification, successful completion of first-year core units may provide eligibility for ECU's Bachelor of Laws program.
