The composition program emphasizes hands-on learning through performance and teamwork. Students work collaboratively with peers from dance, film, video, electronic arts, gaming, and theater departments throughout their studies. The curriculum covers recording, mixing, mastering, online networking, and modern composition techniques. Through the Composer in Residence initiative, students interact with visiting artists and gain industry exposure. Participation in electroacoustic music performances is facilitated through the ECUatorial and Aletheia ensembles, with encouragement to collaborate with music performance majors.
