This specialization focuses on enhancing methods for engaging with families and children from varied cultural backgrounds while fostering a deeper awareness of diverse learning requirements to maximize educational outcomes for every student. The program equips future educators with research-backed strategies to design tailored curricula and instructional methods, as well as modify and personalize existing materials to address different learning styles. Participants will explore techniques for promoting language and literacy development in culturally diverse settings, establishing productive classroom management systems for challenging behaviors, and cultivating strong collaborations with families and key partners.

Qualification Requirements

The following course-specific admission requirements are mandatory and must be satisfied by all applicants. These requirements are in addition to or supersede the minimum requirements outlined within the Academic admission requirements band section below.
All applicants are required to satisfy non-academic criteria, in addition to satisfying academic entry criteria. Applicants' non-academic capabilities will be assessed based on completion of a Non-Academic Requirements for Teacher Entry (NARTE) online questionnaire.
All applicants must meet the academic admission requirements for this course. The indicative or guaranteed ATAR is as published (where applicable) or academic admission requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:
AQF Cert IV,
Successfully completed 0.25 EFTSL of study at bachelor level or higher at an Australian higher education provider (or equivalent),
Undergraduate Certificate,
Special Tertiary Admissions Test,
University Preparation Course,
Indigenous University Orientation Course,
Aboriginal University Readiness Assessment, or
Experience Based Entry Scheme.

International Baccalaureate Diploma - Minimum of 24 points (Minimum of 28 points for Law), consisting of aggregate from 3 higher level & 3 subsidiary level

International students must attain an IELTS Academic with an average level of 7.5 or more, across the four components of listening, speaking, reading and writing, no score below level 7.0 in any of these components, and a score of 8.0 or more in the components of speaking and listening. Internationally schooled applicants may also be required to meet this requirement.
