The Master of Science program enables you to expand your expertise in a specific area of biology or chemical sciences through self-directed, sustained research under academic supervision. Working with our globally recognized research faculty in the Science, Engineering and Built Environment department, you'll conduct investigations to gain comprehensive, advanced knowledge in one or more specialized fields.
Through producing a significant scholarly contribution - demonstrated by a thesis of up to 50,000 words - you'll establish yourself as a specialist in your chosen discipline while enhancing your professional opportunities. While research forms the core of this degree, you'll also complete a minimum of one coursework unit.
Enhance your understanding of biological and chemical sciences by undertaking independent, extended research with academic guidance.
To be considered for selection into this degree you are required to have completed:
a research project including a thesis which is equivalent to at least 25% of a year’s full-time study at Level 8 of the Australian Qualifications Framework, with achievement of a grade for the project equivalent to a Deakin grade of 65% or equivalent

PTE: 58 No less than 50 in each skill
