Investigate the molecular foundations of health and disease. Primary research focuses encompass immunology, pathogen-related illnesses, growth biology, and additional fields.
A Research Masters degree is granted for significant, innovative additions to scientific understanding accomplished within two years of full-time study (or four years part-time). Professional Pathway Internships with corporate collaborators are available as optional opportunities for all higher-degree research candidates, both domestic and international. Placement scheduling should be coordinated with academic advisors and authorized by the departmental HDR administrator. Full-time research candidates should dedicate 36 weekly hours to their Master's program. Students may request 20 business days of annual leave from research activities upon supervisor approval. (Part-time commitments are proportionally reduced.)
To be considered for selection into this degree you are required to have completed:
a research project including a thesis which is equivalent to at least 25% of a year's full-time study at Level 8 of the Australian Qualifications Framework, with achievement of a grade for the project equivalent to a Deakin grade of 65% or equivalent
English Language Requirements:
IELTS: Overall 7 No band less than 6.5
TOEFL IBT: 94 Writing 24
C1 ADVANCED and C2 PROFICIENCY: 185 No band less than 176
PTE: 65 No less than 58 in each skill
OET: Overall B (equivalent to a IELTS 7~7.5 range)
