Learn to engage readers across generations through Deakin’s Graduate Diploma of Creative Writing. This intensive one-year program pairs you with experienced authors who will guide you in crafting publishable works. You'll acquire essential writing skills including editing, genre analysis, and transforming initial ideas through multiple drafting phases.
Core units focus on storytelling fundamentals, taught through interactive workshops where you'll receive constructive critiques. Master techniques like manipulating narrative timeframes, exploring different genres and styles, and developing authentic characters and voices. The program also emphasizes establishing consistent writing habits and thought processes – crucial competencies for professional authors.
To be considered for admission to this degree you will need to meet at least one of the following criteria:
completion of a bachelor degree or higher
at least two years' relevant work experience (or part-time equivalent)

TOEFL IBT: 79 Writing 21
C1 ADVANCED and C2 PROFICIENCY: 176 No band less than 169
PTE: 58 No less than 50 in each skill
OET: Overall C+
