Conduct research exploring the molecular foundations of health and disease while being guided by a faculty member from the School of Medicine. The Doctor of Philosophy degree recognizes significant, innovative contributions to knowledge attained through three years of full-time study (or six years part-time). Full-time PhD candidates should dedicate 36 weekly hours to their research. With Principal Supervisor approval, students may take 20 working days of annual leave. (Part-time students commit half these hours.)
Career Pathway Placements (internships) with industry collaborators are available as optional opportunities for all domestic and international higher degree research students. Students should consult their supervisory team about placement timing and obtain approval from the School's HDR Coordinator.
