This program is tailored for individuals who have completed a four-year Engineering bachelor's degree in a relevant field that lacks Engineers Australia accreditation.
Students holding an EA-accredited four-year degree in the same discipline should note this course isn't appropriate for them. Those with accredited qualifications looking for advanced studies in their field should explore the Master of Philosophy or Master of Engineering Management programs instead.
Through this broad, interdisciplinary curriculum, participants will develop expertise in conventional and unconventional oil and gas operations, covering exploration, drilling, production, and field management.
Upon completion, alumni can pursue petroleum engineering roles across the resources sector, service providers, and government agencies, including regulatory bodies.
The program includes a minimum 12-week professional practice component, requiring students to maintain detailed experience logs. In the final year, you'll undertake a capstone research project that synthesizes and applies your accumulated knowledge.
Earning the Graduate Diploma in Petroleum Engineering qualifies you for progression into the Master of Subsea Engineering program.
Applicants require a 4-year Engineering degree from a recognised institution in the same discipline of study. Students who have completed the Graduate Diploma of Professional Engineering degree at Curtin will be considered to have met the above course requirement.
