This program is tailored for individuals who have completed a four-year Engineering bachelor's degree in a relevant field that lacks Engineers Australia accreditation.
The program isn't appropriate for those holding an Engineers Australia-accredited undergraduate degree in the same field. Graduates with EA-accredited qualifications who wish to pursue advanced studies in their discipline should explore the Master of Philosophy or Master of Engineering Management programs instead.
This specialization delivers thorough expertise in mining engineering, covering mineral exploration, mine design, operations, and administration. Students will gain insights into both theoretical frameworks and practical applications, including innovative approaches like smart mining technologies, data analytics, and robotics in mining operations.
Throughout the program, participants will study diverse mining engineering topics through an advanced curriculum encompassing mining techniques, resource assessment, geomechanics, mine design and feasibility analysis, ventilation systems, rock excavation methods, mine administration, digital technologies, emerging mining trends, and sustainable practices.
Our curriculum emphasizes strong industry connections by incorporating Work Integrated Learning (WIL) components in every course module.
Applicants require a 4-year Engineering degree from a recognised institution in the same discipline of study. Students who have completed the Graduate Diploma of Professional Engineering degree at Curtin will be considered to have met the above course requirement.
