This program is tailored for individuals who have completed a four-year Engineering bachelor's degree in a relevant field that lacks Engineers Australia accreditation.
The program isn't intended for those with an Engineers Australia-accredited four-year degree in the same field. Graduates holding EA-accredited qualifications who wish to pursue advanced studies in their discipline should explore the Master of Philosophy or Master of Engineering Management programs instead.
Mechanical engineering encompasses the examination, comprehension, development, and production of components, equipment, and machinery, frequently incorporating thermal and fluid dynamics to form comprehensive engineering systems.
Through this specialization, you'll explore intermediate and advanced concepts that prepare you for a career in modern mechanical engineering and its evolving landscape. The coursework is structured to demonstrate how mechanical engineering integrates with other key engineering fields to develop products and integrated systems.
As part of your studies, you'll complete a minimum of 12 weeks of professional engineering experience while maintaining an official logbook. Your capstone project will provide the chance to implement sophisticated knowledge and innovative technologies to investigate and design solutions for complex mechanical engineering challenges.
Applicants require a 4-year Engineering degree from a recognised institution in the same discipline of study. Students who have completed the Graduate Diploma of Professional Engineering degree at Curtin will be considered to have met the above course requirement.
