The Finance and Investment Analytics Major equips students with skills to create predictive models for developing effective investment strategies. This program explores the intersection of data analysis, economic modeling, and financial market dynamics. In today's "big data" era, while investors and regulators have access to vast information, its practical application remains challenging. The key challenge lies in processing large datasets and transforming them into actionable insights, which demands expertise in programming, statistics, econometrics, and financial market knowledge. This program bridges that gap by offering comprehensive training across these interconnected disciplines. Upon finishing the first year of either the Master of Predictive Analytics or Graduate Diploma in Predictive Analytics, students gain foundational skills in data security, management, and predictive modeling. During this specialized major's first semester, students explore financial market mechanisms, investment approaches, and economic modeling with a focus on data analytics applications. The second semester delves into advanced topics linking machine learning with contemporary econometrics. Students also enhance their practical expertise through an industry-relevant capstone project.
