Our Doctor of Education (EdD) program offers doctoral-level studies that combine advanced professional knowledge with hands-on research focused on enhancing your practice. You'll gain sophisticated research skills to assess, execute, oversee, design, and manage educational research while understanding its policy implications.
Unlike traditional PhDs, the EdD maintains strong professional relevance, being both research-centered and practice-oriented, producing tangible outcomes that advance both educational practice and academic scholarship.
As a research degree, the EdD requires at least two-thirds of the program to involve original investigation. While some coursework may be included, your primary focus will be a supervised thesis that must make an original contribution to knowledge through new discoveries, theoretical developments, or novel interpretations of existing information. Alternatively, you may opt for a series of interconnected scholarly papers accompanied by an explanatory exegesis.
