This course teaches you to harmonize public and private interests to enhance community well-being. You'll gain expertise in creating sustainable futures by mastering innovative planning techniques. The curriculum covers diverse factors like social, economic, environmental, legal, and political considerations to craft effective land-use strategies. These strategies are then applied through urban management and development oversight. Each semester includes practical fieldwork with potential collaborations with Curtin's partners (such as the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions; City of Bayswater; and Public Transport Authority) – creating valuable industry connections. International opportunities like internships, fieldwork, and study tours let you practice planning skills in global settings. Graduates will possess expertise in land-use planning, design principles, economic and legal frameworks, professional communication, and ethical standards.
