This dual degree program teaches you to assess nutritional health requirements for individuals, groups, and populations. You'll gain skills to educate others about proper nutrition and wellness while advocating for improved health policies. The program also develops your capacity to organize public health initiatives and nutrition awareness campaigns.
During your initial year, you'll study fundamental health promotion and nutrition concepts alongside students from various health fields.
In subsequent years, you'll acquire specialized expertise in health promotion and nutrition. This includes creating campus-based health campaigns and delivering nutrition education in school settings.
Practical experience comes through a 100-hour professional placement with public health or health promotion organizations.
Important note: Australia differentiates between dietitians and other nutrition professionals. Becoming a dietitian requires additional postgraduate qualifications beyond this program.
