Midwives play a vital role in professional healthcare, serving in diverse environments including hospitals, clinics, community practices, birthing centers, and home care settings.
This program provides thorough training to develop the expertise needed for midwifery practice.
Your coursework will cover subjects spanning biological, physical, psychological, and social sciences.
Additionally, you'll undertake supervised clinical rotations in maternity departments and accompany expectant mothers throughout their pregnancy using the 'continuity of care experience' (CCE) model.
After graduation, you'll be prepared to work in both urban and rural healthcare facilities such as prenatal clinics (including specialized services for teens, high-risk pregnancies, and diabetic patients), delivery rooms, postnatal care units, neonatal intensive care, lactation support centers, midwifery group practices, and birthing facilities.
You’re considered a high school leaver if you:
Completed year 12 in Australia or overseas in the past two years, or
Completed TAFE or VET studies in the past two years.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) - Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking - 7.0; Overall band score - 7.0
