This dual degree program allows you to pursue a major from both the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the Faculty of Humanities. Upon completion, you'll earn both a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts degree, while developing exceptional communication abilities to effectively share scientific advancements with diverse audiences.

Throughout the program, you'll develop the ability to: Apply interdisciplinary knowledge across scientific and humanities contexts through hands-on research and fieldwork. Employ creative and analytical thinking to address complex scientific, social, and political challenges. Gather, analyze, and integrate information from various academic and professional sources. Communicate effectively in both scientific and professional environments. Utilize appropriate technologies in your work. Cultivate self-directed learning skills through critical reflection and proactive engagement. Understand global and cultural perspectives within scientific and humanities disciplines and their societal impacts. Demonstrate awareness of human rights, cultural diversity, and Indigenous Australian rights. Exhibit leadership, ethical conduct, and professional integrity in both team and independent settings.

This dual degree specialization will provide you with language proficiency and cultural understanding for careers involving China or working within China itself.

As the most widely spoken native language globally with 1.3 billion speakers, Chinese language skills combined with China's dynamic economy and strong trade relationship with Australia create exceptional global career prospects.

With Asia's ongoing economic and social development, Chinese language and cultural knowledge has become increasingly valuable for international engagement. This specialization prepares you for diverse global career paths.

You'll achieve advanced proficiency in all Chinese language skills - listening, speaking, reading, and writing - along with comprehensive understanding of Chinese society and cultural traditions.

This program accommodates all students: no prior Chinese language experience is necessary, with separate pathways available for beginners, intermediate learners, and native speakers.
