Actuaries evaluate diverse datasets to forecast and evaluate long-term financial risks in planning and decision-making. Their skills also extend to other domains – like analyzing the timing and patterns of severe weather occurrences, aiding in risk prediction and cost estimation for investments or insurance policies.
This program equips you with mathematical, statistical, data analysis, demographic, financial, and economic competencies needed for financial analyst roles in risk-focused organizations – including banks, financial firms, insurance providers, and government bodies.
You'll master mathematical and statistical methods for modeling business and industrial processes within financial and economic contexts. Additionally, you'll develop skills to pinpoint risk elements and calculate their associated prices and expenses.
During your third year, you'll specialize in either actuarial science or a combination of actuarial and applied statistics.
Students from different countries should have qualifications equivalent to Australian Year 12 and a scaled mark of at least 50 in English, Literature, or English as an Additional Language or Dialect.
