The integration of scientific knowledge into practical challenges is growing more sophisticated and inherently interdisciplinary. Modern scientific progress often requires collaboration across multiple disciplines, as seen in fields like astronomy, biochemistry, bioinformatics, environmental studies, forensic science, and nanotechnology.

This program teaches you to approach real-world, interdisciplinary problems using scientific theories and methods. You'll also develop essential communication, innovation, business, and cultural competencies needed for collaborative roles across government and corporate sectors.

Students can specialize in one of four concentrations: Computational Sciences, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Engineering Science, or Physical Sciences.

Computational Sciences
This specialization focuses on contemporary computing principles, equipping students with industry-relevant technical abilities. The curriculum includes foundational programming with C and Java to teach object-oriented design and algorithmic thinking. Additional components cover Linux systems, artificial intelligence fundamentals, computer science principles, and cybersecurity essentials.

Earth and Environmental Sciences
This concentration examines planetary systems and their environmental interactions. Graduates develop expertise in advanced analytical methods for geological materials, preparing them for roles in resource management and environmental protection. The program emphasizes developing sustainable solutions for industrial impacts, pollution analysis, and conservation strategies.

Engineering Science
Students acquire mathematical modeling, practical application, and analytical skills to address engineering problems scientifically. The interdisciplinary approach covers core engineering concepts while providing theoretical foundations and hands-on experience to solve complex societal issues. This specialization also serves as a foundation for advanced engineering studies.

Physical Sciences
This major explores fundamental principles of physics, astronomy, chemistry, mathematics, and geology, demonstrating their combined application in modern scientific research. The curriculum examines universal forces across cosmic and atomic scales, material properties, Earth's composition, and mathematical frameworks for scientific prediction and analysis.
