This dual degree program teaches the fundamentals of innovation and commercialization law while providing the initial credentials required for legal practice in Australia. Understanding innovation's legal aspects proves especially valuable for entrepreneurs launching startups or bringing new products to market.
Students will master essential legal skills, covering foundational concepts like the rule of law, professional ethics, and developing strong business acumen.
The innovation curriculum incorporates our GRIT philosophy: Global perspective, Responsible approach, Innovative thinking, and Technological proficiency. The program teaches innovation methodologies for addressing complex societal and industry issues - skills becoming increasingly crucial in emerging legal fields involving digital finance, environmental law, intellectual property, and technology that demand creative, multidisciplinary solutions.
Participants will gain core business management and innovation knowledge while completing hands-on learning experiences. These include sustainable innovation projects, interactive study tours, or international opportunities where students can apply their skills as forward-thinking problem solvers. Additional transformative experiences feature study abroad programs, coding competitions, and professional internships.
The first three years occur at Curtin's Perth campus, with the fourth year plus one term completed at Curtin Law School in Perth's city center.
