Curtin's Bachelor of Laws program delivers the foundational qualification required for legal practice in Australia. Pairing this with a Bachelor of Commerce – specializing in accounting, taxation, economics, finance, marketing, or human resources – enhances your career with valuable business expertise.
Our law program provides a comprehensive, practice-oriented legal education. You'll develop essential skills for legal professionals while gaining crucial commercial understanding. Early in your studies, you'll appreciate the significance of upholding the rule of law and the ethical obligations inherent in legal practice.
The curriculum includes elective units covering diverse fields like forensic advocacy, family law, human rights law, Indigenous title law, and legal technology. These options allow you to customize your degree according to your professional interests.
Complementing your legal studies with a Commerce degree equips you with specialized business knowledge relevant to careers in commercial law, corporate governance, policy development, or management roles.
The program structure includes three years of semester-based study at Curtin Perth, followed by a fourth year plus one trimester at Curtin Law School's city campus. Full-time students can complete both degrees in just 4.5 years.
During your city campus studies, you'll gain hands-on experience through mock trials in our advanced moot court and practical case work at the John Curtin Law Clinic. The program's central location fosters valuable connections with legal academics, practitioners, and proximity to major courts enhances your professional network.
