The Engineering-Commerce double degree is an extended, optional program designed for engineering students seeking to enhance their business capabilities. This program provides additional expertise to strengthen your initial career phase after graduation. Your first year includes the Engineering Foundation Year (EFY), created in collaboration with industry to establish a strong grounding in core engineering principles and contemporary practices. You'll take six foundational units (covering accounting, economics, information systems, business law, management, and marketing) to survey different business domains before selecting your specialization. You'll cultivate communication abilities and essential professional competencies valued by employers. Additional opportunities include career counseling and international study options. A distinctive feature is the Business capstone unit in your final year, where you'll operate a simulated multi-million dollar enterprise, applying your learning to create professional deliverables. Management involves leadership responsibilities: guiding teams, managing finances, ensuring project completion, and addressing considerations like ethics and sustainability.
