The Engineering-Commerce dual degree is an expanded, elective program tailored for engineering students. It aims to enhance your business acumen, providing additional expertise to launch your engineering career after graduation. Your initial year will include the Engineering Foundation Year (EFY), created in collaboration with industry leaders to establish a strong grounding in core engineering principles and modern practices.
This combined degree equips you with commercial knowledge and hands-on skills, offering a competitive edge for varied career paths. You'll explore six foundational business units (accounting, economics, information systems, business law, management, and marketing) to understand different business domains before specializing.
You'll refine communication abilities and essential professional competencies valued by employers. Opportunities may include career counseling and international study. A distinctive feature is the final-year Business capstone unit, where you'll manage a simulated multi-million-dollar enterprise, applying your expertise to create real-world solutions while consolidating your learning.
Economics extends beyond financial matters – it examines global markets, policies, and events to guide strategic choices across industries. These decisions influence wealth distribution and resource access. Focusing on practical economics, this specialization teaches you to analyze pressing issues like unemployment, housing costs, environmental concerns, energy demands, and social disparities. You'll master data analysis, statistics, mathematics, and business intelligence to assess spending trends, market competition, economic cycles, and financial instability. The program covers macroeconomic (national/global economies) and microeconomic (individual markets) principles while strengthening your ability to clearly communicate complex insights.
