The Engineering-Commerce dual degree is an expanded, elective program tailored for engineering students. This program aims to enhance your business acumen, providing additional expertise to launch your engineering career after graduation. Your first year will include the Engineering Foundation Year (EFY), created in collaboration with industry leaders to establish a strong grounding in core engineering principles and modern practices.
This combined degree equips you with business insights and practical commerce abilities, preparing you for varied career opportunities. You'll explore six foundational business units (accounting, economics, information systems, business law, management, and marketing) to understand different business domains before specializing in your chosen major.
You'll refine communication and essential professional competencies valued by employers. Opportunities for career advice and international study may also be available. A distinctive feature of this program is the final-year Business capstone unit, where you'll manage a simulated multimillion-dollar enterprise, applying your expertise to solidify learning while producing real-world outcomes.
Mining engineering leverages advanced technology to safely and efficiently extract earth's minerals. This rapidly evolving field places Curtin students at the forefront of innovation. In this specialization, you'll explore next-generation mining technologies like robotics, data analysis, and 3D printing. You'll examine mining economics, develop cultural awareness for working with Indigenous communities, and learn to contribute meaningfully to sustainability. The program is designed to smoothly transition you from academic study to the global resources sector, ready to embrace industry-transforming technological advancements.
Students from different countries should have qualifications equivalent to Australian Year 12 and a scaled mark of at least 50 in English, Literature, or English as an Additional Language or Dialect.
