Curtin is renowned for developing skilled journalists who excel in researching, analyzing, and reporting across traditional and digital media. In this major, you'll gain expertise in creating news stories, features, and multimedia content for radio, video, and online channels.
You'll receive instruction from experienced faculty with strong industry ties while working in professional-grade media facilities. These include our state-of-the-art production studio, Curtin FM radio station, and the student-run Western Independent news platform.
An optional professional placement unit provides hands-on experience, giving you the chance to work with potential employers in the field.
