The Graduate Diploma of Public Health is a key component of CQUniversity's Public Health program. It builds upon the social-ecological health framework, which aligns with current public health priorities and enables creative solutions for societal transformation. While many Public Health programs concentrate on medical approaches, CQUniversity's Graduate Diploma integrates both medical and social dimensions of public health theory and application. Offering more comprehensive content than the Graduate Certificate, this program allows for interdisciplinary study combinations.
This forward-thinking curriculum examines public health's historical development and core community-centered principles. The social-ecological health framework serves as the program's foundation, introducing students to adaptive systems thinking and its impact on public health perspectives.
Mirroring modern public health developments, this methodology supports novel approaches to societal improvement. Students will study modules covering public health's historical roots and community-driven health principles. The curriculum explores essential concepts like adaptive systems theory, health determinants, epidemiological patterns, equity principles, collaborative partnerships, and participatory research methods. These concepts are applied practically through both asset-based and preventive health strategies.
