CQUni's PhD (Industry) is a practice-oriented doctoral program that blends preparatory research coursework, specialized studies, and a dissertation to develop your ability to apply advanced research analysis and critical reasoning in your workplace. Building upon your industry background, you can select either an industry placement or advanced coursework to complement your research focus and expand your professional capabilities.
This PhD (Industry) program specifically targets experienced professionals seeking to pursue advanced research while maintaining their career trajectory. You'll develop sophisticated research evaluation and analytical skills to enhance your current or prospective leadership and management responsibilities.
Spanning four years, the program provides a structured introduction to research methodologies, helping you master research terminology, techniques, and standards before undertaking your doctoral project. The curriculum combines rigorous coursework, specialized research components, and dissertation work (including both project and thesis), offering a customizable approach tailored to your individual goals.
The qualifications for admission as a candidate will be set out in the PhD (Industry) Course Rules Policy and Procedure. Entry to the PhD (Industry) will require a coursework masters degree combined with a three or four-year bachelor-level qualification or equivalent in a field relevant to the proposed research study topic, plus a minimum of three years experience in a relevant professional setting. In considering the admissions criteria, the University will have regard to the recency of the applicant’s formal qualifications and/or professional experience. The University may also seek additional information from applicants regarding relevant workplace experience, research publications, or other items that can clearly demonstrate research and content-based expertise. IELTS Academic - Overall 6.5 (with no band less than 6.0); TOEFL (internet-based) - Overall 79 (with no score less than 21), PTE Academic - Overall 62 (with no score less than 54), CAE and CPE - Overall 176 (with no band less than 169).
