The Master of Construction Practice offers an extensive curriculum encompassing various aspects of construction management, equipping students with skills to handle intricate construction projects. Coursework explores diverse subjects such as structural engineering, soil mechanics, construction methodologies, machinery operation, contract management, cost estimation, financial planning, project oversight, renovation techniques, and risk assessment. This program holds accreditation from three prestigious bodies: the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS), the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Additionally, it fulfills the educational criteria set by the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) for obtaining an Open Builders License. The program includes a 'Professional' extension that adds 20 weeks to the standard duration, designed to enhance students' career preparedness. This component fosters critical thinking and strategic problem-solving abilities through self-reflection on workplace scenarios, while also offering hands-on experience to understand industry demands and refine communication skills for better job prospects.
Completion of an Australian Bachelor degree or equivalent from an approved institution OR qualifications AND/OR relevant professional experience deemed equivalent by the Dean.
English language proficiency requirements:
International English Language Testing System (IELTS): Academic Overall score 6.5 with no sub score less than 6.0
Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet-Based Test (TOEFL iBT): Overall score 79 (no scores below 21 in Writing, 18 in Speaking, and 16 in Reading and Listening)
Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: Overall score 58 with no Communicative Scores below 50
