This program provides interdisciplinary expertise by combining core criminology and legal studies with opportunities to specialize in criminology or pursue advanced psychology or law coursework. The curriculum covers essential topics such as judicial processes, digital offenses, penal codes, crime causation theories, wrongful convictions, security strategies, youth welfare, and juvenile legal systems. Graduates develop professionally applicable competencies for diverse roles within justice-focused organizations spanning corporate, public, and nonprofit sectors, including support services, policymaking, and investigative functions. The Bachelor of Criminal Justice and Criminology fosters both practical abilities and critical thinking skills necessary for today's evolving societal landscape. Addressing changing definitions of criminal behavior and social disparities, the program examines offender characteristics, crime patterns, media impacts on legislation, and the cultural/historical frameworks surrounding criminal incidents involving perpetrators, victims, and affected communities. Students who have completed Year 12 in Australia or equivalent secondary studies in other countries.
