The volume of corporate data is growing exponentially, demanding skilled professionals to interpret this information and deliver valuable business insights. The Bachelor of Actuarial Science (Honours) program enhances your numerical expertise to devise practical solutions for real-world challenges. A key focus of the curriculum involves cultivating research abilities and actuarial judgment through Actuarial Control Cycle courses and the Actuarial Research Thesis component. This honors degree enables Actuarial Science graduates to refine their technical capabilities while understanding their application in broader business and economic contexts. Additionally, students can fulfill the university requirements for Part II (Actuary program) certification, earning recognition from the Actuaries Institute and the professional title of Actuary. Full Part II accreditation necessitates completing two online courses exclusively offered by the Actuaries Institute. This 80-credit, two-semester program combines independent research with coursework, culminating in a research thesis and seminar presentation. Throughout the program, students design, execute, and document an independent research project under academic supervision.
Academic requirements Students who have successfully completed at least 120 CP in the Bachelor of Actuarial Science or equivalent with a Grade Point Average of at least 2/4 (credit average or better) may then apply for the honours program. Bond Actuarial Science students admitted into the honours program are eligible to apply for a competitive annual scholarship (up to 50% tuition Fee-waiver) which requires a minimum applicant GPA of 3.0 (on 4-point scale) to be considered.
