The Master of Commerce (Advanced) serves as a stepping stone toward PhD studies with an accounting specialization. Even students with minimal accounting experience can progress to advanced academic levels. This program delivers in-depth study in one or more accounting fields, requiring students to complete preparatory research coursework and a thesis in an accounting discipline.
Instruction is provided by faculty actively engaged in research. Participants gain exposure to both professional and scholarly accounting research, strengthening their academic capabilities. The program also equips students with accounting research skills and demonstrates their capacity for independent investigation.
Learning Outcomes
Synthesize advanced theoretical and technical accounting knowledge within business environments, encompassing accounting research challenges and methodological approaches.
Apply independent critical thinking to evaluate and propose potential solutions to complex, evolving accounting issues, considering relevant social, ethical, economic, regulatory, sustainability, governance, and/or global factors when appropriate.
