The Graduate Diploma in International Affairs (GDIA) is a versatile one-year full-time (or part-time option) postgraduate program that prepares students with essential expertise for analyzing contemporary challenges in global, political, and strategic studies, with particular focus on Asia and the Pacific region.
By selecting from an extensive array of Master's level courses, participants will develop the ability to rigorously assess international relations along with foreign and defense strategies. The GDIA exposes learners to multiple academic fields, examining how factors like globalization, economic growth, democratic transitions, security threats, and armed conflicts shape political dynamics across the Asia-Pacific and worldwide.
This diploma serves as a stepping stone for admission into ANU's Master's programs in Diplomacy, International Relations, Strategic Studies, and Globalization. Prospective students intending to advance from this qualification to a Master's degree should consult with the relevant program coordinator to confirm that their Graduate Diploma coursework qualifies for credit transfer toward their selected Master's program.
