The Executive Master of Public Administration (EMPA) program equips upcoming leaders with essential management and policy expertise for modern public service roles. Created through collaboration with top public sector executives in Australia and New Zealand, the EMPA cultivates exceptional public sector managers. This initiative provides ambitious leaders with comprehensive training in both theoretical and practical aspects of public administration. It unites a carefully chosen cohort of promising public sector professionals from Australia and New Zealand with distinguished international educators and practitioners. The EMPA is an interdisciplinary, flexible degree comprising 11 courses, featuring core components delivered by ANZSOG and elective options from partner universities. Participants are high-achieving government employees nominated and sponsored by participating agencies, subject to university admission requirements. Graduates receive their degree from the Australian National University.
Applicants must present the following:
The GPA for a Bachelor program will be calculated from (i) a completed Bachelor degree using all grades and/or (ii) a completed Bachelor degree using all grades other than those from the last semester (or equivalent study period) of the Bachelor degree. The higher of the two calculations will be used as the basis for admission.
