The PhD program at the School of Cybernetics builds upon the groundbreaking work of ANU's Master of Applied Cybernetics, forging a novel methodology for engineering and technology that integrates technological, human, and environmental systems to create positive global impact while championing fairness and accessibility. This cohort-driven program features collaborative teaching and support structures. Pursuing a PhD here enables students to advance cybernetic research through hands-on, creative methodologies. Admission requires completion of ANU's Master of Applied Cybernetics.

Qualification Requirements
At a minimum all applicants must meet program specific academic non-academic requirements and English language requirements Admission to most ANU programs is on a competitive basis Therefore meeting all admission requirements does not automatically guarantee entry
Admission to a Doctor of Philosophy is also subject to supervisory capacity availability of appropriate infrastructure and resources and approval from the relevant Delegated Authority within the Academic College

Have completed the ANU Master of Applied Cybernetics with a minimum GPA of 6.0
Have the written approval of an identified supervisor for the research projectthesis
Exemptions for students who have a Bachelors degree and professional qualifications work experience andor published research that may be deemed equivalent to the ANU Master of Applied Cybernetics with a minimum GPA of 6.0 will only be considered on the advice of the Director of the School of Cybernetics should it align closely to ANU and School of Cybernetics strategic priorities
