The Psychology Honours program is designed for students who have completed an APAC-accredited undergraduate psychology sequence and wish to pursue independent psychological research. Typically completed full-time over two semesters, this specialization offers research training, advanced exploration of contemporary psychological concepts, and a major research project resulting in a thesis. The program provides essential research skills that serve as a foundation for diverse career paths, including clinical psychology, while also opening doors to opportunities beyond the field.
Learning Outcomes
Design and conduct an autonomous, sustained critical examination of a selected research topic to contribute new insights to psychological knowledge.
Critically assess relevant psychological theories, principles, and practices, connecting them to appropriate research methodologies and empirical evidence to form valid conclusions.
Evaluate and interpret original psychological research data using suitable statistical or analytical methods when applicable.
