The Earth Physics Honours specialization is designed for students eager to pursue an independent research project in Earth physics under faculty guidance, with prerequisite knowledge in fields like Physics, Earth and Marine Sciences, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science. Typically spanning two full-time semesters, this program offers research methodology training, optional coursework in data science and computational geosciences, plus a major research component (24-36 units) culminating in an Honours thesis. This comprehensive preparation opens doors to industry and government careers, as well as advanced studies in Masters or Ph.D. programs.
