The Earth Physics Honours specialization is designed for students eager to pursue an independent research project in Earth physics under faculty supervision, with prerequisite knowledge in fields like Physics, Earth and Marine Sciences, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science. Typically spanning two full-time semesters, this program offers research methodology training, optional coursework in data science and computational geosciences, plus a significant research component (24-36 units) culminating in an Honours thesis. This comprehensive approach prepares graduates for diverse careers in industry and government, while also providing a foundation for advanced studies through Masters or Ph.D. programs.
