The Chemistry Honours program is designed for students with a solid grounding in the subject who wish to pursue independent research under faculty supervision. Typically completed full-time over two consecutive semesters, this specialization combines research training, advanced study of contemporary theories, and a major research project leading to a thesis. It establishes core research competencies and serves as a springboard for diverse career paths—both scientific and non-scientific—or as preparation for doctoral studies in chemistry.
Learning Outcomes
Design and conduct an autonomous, sustained research inquiry to advance knowledge in a selected chemistry subfield.
Critically assess relevant chemical theories and frameworks, connect them to suitable methodologies and evidence, and formulate valid conclusions.
Evaluate and interpret novel research findings in chemistry.
Acquire and apply appropriate laboratory techniques and analytical methods to gather original research data in chemistry.
