The astronomy and astrophysics honors program is designed for students with a solid background in the subject who wish to pursue specialized coursework and conduct independent research under faculty supervision. Typically completed full-time over two consecutive semesters, the program combines research training, advanced study of key concepts, and a major research project culminating in a thesis. This program provides essential research skills and serves as a stepping stone to careers in astrophysics, physics, applied mathematics, statistics, science communication, or computer science, as well as preparation for doctoral studies in Astronomy and Astrophysics.
