The ANU Bachelor of Music cultivates exceptional musical talent by blending performance, composition, and technology. Our philosophy centers on discovery as the foundation for both artistic innovation and mastery. We develop artistic excellence by providing varied musical opportunities in a setting that promotes achievement, enthusiasm, and creative enterprise.
This program delivers a distinctive modern musical education encompassing classical, jazz, and contemporary performance, along with multimedia composition, audio engineering, and recording.
Students may focus on one or multiple of five specializations: performance; film and video game composition; traditional composition; music technology; and musicology.

grasp the methods, vocabularies, structures, materials, technologies, and approaches across diverse musical styles;
exhibit comprehensive understanding and skill in musical performance, composition/arranging, sound design, musicology, or music technology through specialized knowledge and practical abilities;
analyze and interpret musical concepts by examining relevant research while employing original, ethical, and critical thinking to address scholarly inquiries through written work and/or creative expression like performance or composition;
