This program combines the examination of modern Middle Eastern and Central Asian politics, history, international affairs, cultural studies, economic systems, business practices, and Islamic traditions within the context of evolving global dynamics.
The curriculum focuses on key topics related to political and societal transformations, economic advancement, and regional stability, considering factors like sectarian divisions, ethnic and linguistic variety, ideological differences, foreign interventions, and international power struggles.
Learning Outcomes
identify and interpret the cultural, religious, governmental, and economic frameworks of Middle Eastern and Central Asian societies along with their historical evolution;
examine past and present interactions among Middle Eastern and Central Asian nations, as well as their relations with countries outside the region;
assess current political and social phenomena influencing the Middle East and Central Asia and determine their worldwide impact; and
evaluate historical and modern occurrences through a multicultural lens.
