This rigorous Honours program offers students the chance to undertake self-directed, comprehensive research on a subject of their choosing under expert supervision. Designed for individuals with fundamental understanding in environmental science, environmental studies, geography, human ecology, forest sciences, resource management, or sustainability - as well as those seeking to apply expertise from other disciplines to these interdisciplinary fields - the program typically spans two consecutive semesters of full-time study. It encompasses research methodology training, thorough examination of contemporary environmental concepts and specialized research topics, plus a significant original research project resulting in a thesis. The Honours program builds upon undergraduate knowledge and skills while establishing strong research competencies for professional careers or doctoral studies.

Learning Outcomes
Design and conduct an autonomous, sustained critical examination of a selected research topic to produce novel insights.

An AQF Level 7 Bachelor of Genetics Degree or equivalent completed within the last two years.
With a weighted average mark equivalent to an ANU 70 per cent calculated from the 36 units ie 0.75 EFTSL of courses in the discipline cognate to the honor's specialisation excluding 1000-level courses ie introductory undergraduate courses with the highest marks
And the satisfaction of any admission requirements described in the relevant honor's specialisation.
IELTS - Overall score - 6.5, Reading - 6.0, Writing - 6.0, Listening - 6.0, Speaking - 6.0.
TOEFL IBT - Overall score - 80, Reading - 20, Writing - 20, Listening - 18, Speaking - 18.
