The astronomy and astrophysics honors program is designed for students with fundamental understanding of the discipline who wish to pursue specialized coursework and conduct independent research under faculty guidance. Typically completed full-time over two consecutive semesters, the program combines research training, advanced study of contemporary theories, and a significant research project resulting in a thesis. This program provides essential research skills and serves as a springboard for careers in astrophysics, physics, applied mathematics, statistics, science communication, computer science, or as preparation for doctoral studies in Astronomy and Astrophysics.
