The Population Health Honours program is designed for students with foundational knowledge in population health-related disciplines who wish to pursue independent research. Typically completed full-time over two consecutive semesters, this specialization offers research training, advanced exploration of key concepts, and a significant thesis project. Honours provides essential research skills that serve as a springboard for various careers or advanced studies like a PhD.
Learning Outcomes
Design and conduct an independent, in-depth investigation of a selected research topic to contribute new insights to population health.
Critically assess relevant population health theories and concepts, connect them to suitable methodologies and evidence, and derive well-supported conclusions.
Evaluate and interpret original population health research data using appropriate statistical or analytical methods when needed.
Develop proficiency in applying relevant research techniques and methodologies in population health to gather original data.
