The Asia-Pacific Studies Honours program offers you the chance to develop and showcase your research capabilities. Pursuing an Honours degree serves as a vital stepping stone toward graduate research opportunities while improving career options in fields like graduate traineeships. The initial semester focuses on coursework that equips you with essential skills to refine your thesis topic and methodology. In the following semester, you'll concentrate on writing a 20,000-word thesis on a subject of your choosing. You'll benefit from personalized guidance through an assigned thesis supervisor, support from the program convener, and the collaborative environment of working alongside a small group of peers.

Qualification Requirements

A Bachelor of Asian Studies degree or equivalent completed within the last two years

with a weighted average mark equivalent to an ANU 70 per cent in relevant courses in their Bachelor Pass Degree ie courses that are relevant to their proposed honours thesis excluding 1000level courses ie introductory undergraduate courses
With a minimum of 24 units of sequential language study or equivalent proficiency in an Asian language OR a 48 unit major or equivalent in Pacific Studies
with a 24 unit minor or equivalent in a cognate discipline
with the written approval of an identified supervisor and the CAP Honours Program Convenor for the thesis

IELTS - Overall score - 6.5, Reading - 6.0, Writing - 6.0, Listening - 6.0, Speaking - 6.0.
TOEFL IBT - Overall score - 80, Reading - 20, Writing - 20, Listening - 18, Speaking - 18.
