The Master of Biotechnology (Biomedical) (Advanced) closely mirrors the standard Master of Biotechnology (Biomedical) program while providing a more intensive research focus. This two-year full-time Advanced program begins with the same foundational year as the regular degree, where students will:
study under leading biomedical science researchers
acquire current industry knowledge through laboratory placements
complete coursework in entrepreneurship, innovation, and IP management
develop their expertise in the same world-class research facilities described for the standard program.
The key distinction comes in the second year, where Advanced students undertake a specialized 24-point research project compared to the standard program's broader 12-point project.
Important: Admission to the Advanced second year requires maintaining a minimum 6.0 GPA. Students not meeting this threshold may continue in the standard program.
