You'll also complete over 1,800 hours of clinical placements across Adelaide's metropolitan region, rural locations, and interstate sites, applying classroom knowledge in real-world settings.Diagnostic radiographers, as medical imaging specialists, utilize advanced technologies and radiation to create precise diagnostic images for injury and disease assessment. Their scope encompasses general radiography, including x-rays, fluoroscopy, and surgical or emergency imaging.Our on-campus imaging facilities rank among the most advanced, contributing to the program's outstanding national and international reputation.The first year concentrates on foundational sciences essential to medical radiation practice, covering anatomy, physiology, pathology, and radiation physics. These fundamental courses provide grounding in medical radiation principles and their scientific basis.Clinical placements start in your second year and progress through years three and four, allowing you to implement theoretical knowledge in professional environments.
