Game Programmers play a pivotal role in game development, building the core systems, features, and interactive elements that bring games to life. As crucial members of the development team, these professionals enjoy strong industry demand and recognition. The curriculum equips students with industry-standard programming languages and tools like C, C#, OpenGL, and game engines, while enhancing their problem-solving abilities. Developed to meet industry requirements, this intensive two-year full-time program provides comprehensive training.
This degree program cultivates both hands-on abilities and theoretical knowledge to launch careers in game design. Through practical game projects, students build a solid foundation in game programming principles. Spanning three years, the curriculum expands upon the Advanced Diploma's core subjects with advanced content. Beyond programming fundamentals, students acquire specialized skills in software development, UX design, and system architecture to propel their careers in game creation.

AIE Institute degrees do not have an ATAR requirement.

To be eligible for entry to AIE Institute's courses you must meet the following requirements:

Applicants with recent secondary education (within the past two years)

Australian Senior Certificate of Education, such as the NSW HSC, Victorian VCE, South Australian SACE, ACT SSC or equivalent, with a pass level or higher in English.
Interview and/or portfolio
Applicants with vocational education and training (VET) study

A Diploma or higher from an accredited Australian education institution

INTERVIEWS
Interviews are intended to assess the applicant's suitability for the course, including any specific requirements they may have. Common questions to be asked in the interview relate to teamwork, educational history, what students want to gain from the course and their long-term career aspirations. Applicants may also show examples of work from their portfolio. The Admissions Panel will assess the applicant's suitability for the course and advise them if they need to submit further materials.

IELTS Equivalent Overall Score: 5.5 (with a minimum score of 6.0 for Writing, and 7.0 for Listening). AIE also accepts TOEFL and may accept PTE on a case-by-case basis.
